I understand each of us has their own market constraints and customer demands. I am curious as to what Large Black pork producers are charging per pound hanging weight. We charge $5 per lb for a whole hog and $5.50 per pound for a half. All of our cuts are based off of $6.00 hanging weight. The intention is to have folks realize it is cheapest for them to purchase a whole hog. We have sold out of all of our cuts so far this season and have 5 more pigs going to butcher today. All of our pork is pastured with no more than 20% of their diet coming from grains including awesome spent brewing mash.
