One of our sows aborted her litter of 10 piglets early for unknown reasons. Could have been a bad weed she ate, maybe a piglet had died inside her… just not sure. Regardless, I’m wondering if there is any reason why I shouldn’t put her right back in with the boar to try again before winter. She has a little milk coming in, but obviously won’t be nursing at all, so I would think that she would come right back into heat. Any issues with re-breeding her right away after aborting her litter?

Very sorry for your lost litter. I would probably give her a cycle before putting her back in with the boar. If the reason for the aborted litter is unknown, my practice is to watch her for a bit to see what the problem may be. If after a cycle she is doing well, then I would stick her back in with the boar. Some will expose her as soon as possible.
