    In the email notification of the upcoming annual meeting is this sentence:

    If you log in via the computer, there is a chat option to ask questions in real time.

    Is the membership meeting conducted strictly as a Q&A from member to the board, or is it run as a member meeting where members can propose/make changes thru motions, seconds, and votes under Robert’s Rules of Order?

    Its all in the by laws.

    Article V
    MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS
    5.1 ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING: The members of LBHA shall meet annually
    at such time and place as designated by the Board of Directors.
    5.2 PURPOSE OF MEETING: The Annual Membership Meeting is held for the
    purpose of announcing the nominations of Board members, for hearing the report of
    officers of the Board, for the consideration of bylaws changes, and for the transaction of
    any other business which may properly come before the meeting.
    5.3 GENERAL NOTICE OF MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS: Written notice of the time
    and place of the membership meetings shall be mailed or emailed to the members and
    be postmarked at least 60 days prior to such meetings. Upon request, an agenda of the
    meeting, any ballots to be used, and any proposed changes to the bylaws shall be
    furnished to any member.
    5.4 VOTING: Voting on issues addressed at membership meetings shall be
    conducted by e-mail ballot. No more than 30 days after the Annual Membership
    Meeting the Secretary of the Association shall mail the ballots to each active member.
    Results of the balloting shall be counted by the Vice President and shall be kept in his
    or her custody for a period of one year. During this time the votes are subject to
    inspection at reasonable times by any Active member of the Association. Following the
    vote, the voting records are to be sent to the Secretary
    (see 6.12 g). The membership shall be promptly notified of the results of such balloting
    via e-mail. The act of the majority of those voting shall be considered an act of the
    membership of the association, except when a two-thirds majority of the eligible
    membership is called for in these bylaws.

    Re: 5.3 “Written notice of the time and place of the membership meetings shall be mailed or emailed to the members and be postmarked at least 60 days prior to such meetings.”

    Notice of the meeting was emailed on Wednesday, November 30, 13 days prior to the meeting in violation of Article V, sec 5.3 which requires a 60 day notice.

    Also Re: 5.3 “Upon request, an agenda of the meeting, any ballots to be used, and any proposed changes to the bylaws shall be furnished to any member.”

    I request an agenda of the meeting, any ballots that will be used, and a copy of any propposed changes to the bylaws. Given that notice was given with far shorter than the above required 60 day notice, I request that said agenda, ballots, and proposed bylaw changes be furnished to me and the rest of the membership in such time and manner as to allow sufficient study of said material to allow for the membership to make informed, not rushed, decisions.

    Dear Members,
    Our membership meeting will be cancelled for Monday December 12, 2016. I take responsibility for the mess up. I was so focused on making sure we had plenty of time for the nominations that I missed the time limit for the Annual Meeting. Thank you, Bob, for reminding us.

    SO, here is what will happen. We will still keep the meeting time as Monday December 12, 2016 at 8:00 pm EST. This is NOT the Annual Membership Meeting! This will be a “Fireside Chat”. I encourage you to come and share with all of us what you are doing on your farm, successes and failures. Let’s get to know one another. We may not be able to physically meet due to how large our country is, but we can certainly “meet” online.

    Rules for this event: This is NOT a session to complain.
    This is NOT a session to sell animals. This is NOT an opportunity to attack any of our members. This IS an event to share in the achievements of each of our farms. This IS an event to share in the hardships we each face. This IS an event to lift each other up.

    So, we welcome you to the first ever “Fireside Chat”. We will see how well this goes.

    Since this meeting is cancelled, and since the bylaws state there SHALL be an annual membership meeting, and since the last membership meeting was a year and 4 months ago (July of 2015), the question needs asking:

    When will there be a REQUIRED membership meeting?
