We’re brand new to raising hogs and have 3 boars we’re raising for butcher and a gilt we’re saving to breed. All the literature I’ve been able to find says to look at the jowls to determine if the hogs are well or over fed. Only problem is I haven’t been able to find anything that tells me what the jowls are supposed to look like. What’s my target?! LOL!
Can anyone point me to a sketch or photograph that shows correct jowl size. Bonus would be if it would also show what good conformation should be.
