Small farm located a short distance from the confluence of the Rapidan and Rappahannock River in Northern Virginia. We have have 8 permanent residents 2 boars and 6 sows. We can provide breeding pairs and starter herds (Boar: Triangle K Malcom | DK Longfellow SOW: MKB Warbler | Fur Immer Prudence | Triangle K Prudence); with advance notice. Greener Days Farm is a sustainable, off-grid farm focused on raising healthy happy heritage Large Black pigs, Katahdin sheep, ducks and chickens. We have 6 registered boars (Lines: Longfellow, Defender and Super). 14 registered sows: (Lines: Matilda, Charlotte, Warbler, Prudence and Daisy). Plus LB crosses with Old Spot and Tamworth. All of our animals are raised on pasture, woodlots and crop fields. We practice rotational grazing all year for the health of our animals and our soil. We live our tag line every day: If the grass is greener... move the fence.

We are happy to be a part of raising quality large black hogs and improving the breed lines. We currently have one registered breeding pair that bless us with two litters every year. Sire: Clarabelle Super / Dam: Hillbilly Matilda. Our hogs are free to forage and rotated on 30 acres and are also fed high quality organic/non gmo feed. They are handled multiple times a day making all piglets (feeders and breeders) very friendly. Feel free to reach out with any questions or follow us on social media for updates on our hogs!

We are located on the west side of the Cascade Mountains. Hemmi Ridge is raising animals in an organically maintained, permaculture environment. Our animals have access to forest and pasture. The Large Black Hogs eat only organic feed and spend three seasons in the forest or happily grazing our orchard grass pasture. We keep our numbers low so as to be able to focus on the health and over holistic care of them. We truly believe how animals are raised is directly related to their meat quality.
